A Message from the Author:
I am currently married to husband #4, Patrick Monahan.
I call him "The Brave One" because by the time we met,
I was a mess. Three divorces (and a few boyfriend breakups)
took a toll on my psyche, but Patrick saw the best in me,
while I worked on healing the past.
It's been a long road and worth every turn,
because it's in the experience that the lessons are learned.
Three divorces later, I made a discovery:
The Science of Knowing(TM) Relationships
This isn't the stuff that is taught in public schools,
but it can be found in "The School of Hard Knocks" (ouch!)

There's a little bit of relationship drama in this story too, but for the most part, it's all about Australia from an American perspective. Check below for reader comments, excerpts, and links to the printed version and ebook version. Digital rocks!
On August 20, 2011, An American in Oz won first place in the Action/Adventure Non-Fiction category in Dan Poynter's

The Introduction can be found here.
Jennifer Monahan has visited forty-four of the fifty United States. Travel abroad includes Canada, the Bahamas, Taiwan, New Zealand, Solomon Islands, South Korea, Australia, Fiji, Great Britain, and Mexico. It was on December 6, 1999 when she took time away from her job as a part-time bookkeeper to celebrate the new millennium in Australia. In 55 days, she crossed the country twice and filled her journal with details about a land called “Oz.” This is her story.
